I Go, I Go

In terms of working out, I haven't "gone" in a while.
Once my semester at school started, working out just wasn't in my routine of things. Neither was healthy food (oops). Neither of these benefitted me, I might add.
Now that I'm home, I'm working out as much as possible and trying to take as much advantage as I can of the nourishing food my mom makes.
So here's to working out, my friends!

Love always,
-A
P.S.- 7 months later and Foster the People is still the best work out music. Get on it, okay?

In Her Shoes

Okay, guys, let's get this one thing straight: my mom is a total babe.
Along with being super adorable, she has awesome taste in clothes! Over Thanksgiving break, I was in the kitchen with her and all of a sudden realized that she's like, 20 times more trendy than I am. I love it.
She loves drap-ey sweaters, chunky necklaces, skinny jeans, and most of all...HEELS.
With that being said, she's also an amazing mom, and my ultimate best friend. I can't wait to go home and spend countless hours watching girly movies, shopping, and doing crafty things.

Hugs and air kisses (because it's cold season)!

Baby It's Cold Outside

I've clearly been gone for a while in the world of Blogger. My life has been all-consumed with school, homework, working (which is making coffee for people, which is far too enjoyable to be called work), and sleeping. I need more of the sleeping in my life.
Soon, though! I have exactly 11 days left in the semester.
Oh, how I want those days to fly by! But alas, when we want things to come fast, they tend to come slow. So I'm trying to distract myself by enjoying the final moments of the semester.
That being said, I've taken it upon myself to enjoy all things fallish and festive; these things may or may not include lattés (I tried a superb Pumpkin one today), walks around campus in the overcast weather, listening to sweet-sounding music (The Civil Wars as of late), and wearing cozy things...
I have to say, shorts with tights have a special place in my heart. They're like, kind of amazing. Especially with a good pair of shorts (I prefer my Levi's from Urban Outfitters that I got for $5 last year). Wow, lots of parenthese-worthy things to talk about today, eh?
Anyway, I love good winter clothes. I also need more of them. Ha!

Until next time,

Autumn in New York

Hello, friends...
It's nearing the end of September, and there's barely been a glimpse of fall weather.
It's making me a nervous wreck, here!
I just want to wear sweaters, and scarves, and ankle boots! Is that too much for a girl to ask?
The good news is, in 2 1/2 short weeks, I'm going to New York!
I can't wait to see my sister, and spend time walking around the city (and eating yummy food) with my best friend.

Much love,
-A

P.S.- Yes, this outfit may look familiar. It's a bit of a different take on this

There's a Bucket in My Bag

Hellooooo, all!
I'm officially a college student, and it's officially as hot as hell outside.
Hot weather has never been my favorite. At all.
Luckily, they keep it nice and cool indoors which makes for lots of happy students!
I actually juuuuust realized that I'm a little bit of a liar because it's so nice outside right now. Like, perfect. One day it will be like this at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Enough about the heat, let's just take a moment to stare at this outfit.
. . .
Yep, I want to wear it right. now.
What's not to love?

Stay cool kids—and I mean that in the most literal sense of the word, of course!

The Endless Summer

Well, folks.
Summer is basically ending for me this weekend.
It's an extremely sad thought, really.
It's been such a good summer, filled with friends, the beach, and family.
I would really rather it not be over.
I'm going to be optimistic and say that it's not, though. I'm going to school with friends, and I'll be in the sunshine and relatively close to the beach (tanning, anyone?).
So this is my "it's-the-end-of-summer-but-I'm-acting-like-it's-not" outfit.

Long live summer 2011!

Buyer's Remorse...To The Max

I have got some MA-JOR buyer's remorse going on.
While on vacation, I stopped by a store and tried on a maxi skirt and oversized sweater. It was love at first try-on. I would be able to wear the skirt when it was warm, and when it got chilly I could slip on the sweater...it would be perfect. But I chickened out. As soon as I got my credit card out, I decided that I couldn't do it. I'd find another maxi, maybe one even better than the one I tried on (worst case scenario, I'd go back to the store last minute and ask daddy to buy it for me). Like most cases of buyer's remorse, I didn't realize how much I wanted—needed the skirt until I got home and started going into shops. No, nothing compared to the maxi I saw on vacation...
*So here, my friends, is an outfit dear to my heart.

Love,

A Little Bit Boyish

Hello!
Today's outfit has been inspired by the fact that boys have some awesome clothes.
Mostly shoes though.
I can't get over how beautiful Heutchy's current collection is! So simple, and so classy.
I also had to include a Leica X1 because they're amazing pieces of machinery. I have major camera envy.

I hope you're all having great summers!

For Sunday Brunches and Shopping Sprees

Good morning!
It's Sunday and it is indeed sunny.
Up until this last week, our weather was so rainy and weird! Long gone are those days because it's definitely warm, to say the least.
I've decided that I really just love airy skirts and simple tank tops. They're the best!
Last week I went out and bought a bunch of super cute tank tops from Gap and they were ALL on sale. Can't beat a good sale!
I've had quite the shopping bug in me lately (H&M and Gap have been my favs), which is awesome...until I have to look at my bank statement!

I basically just love this whole outfit. It screams Sunday brunch (and shopping time) to me!
You can't beat the lovely use of the coral in the clutch and peachy-ness of the flat espadrilles.
I really like how the gray tank top ties in with the colors too. It's not too dark, but just the right neutral!
You also can never go wrong with tassels. Having some major tassel moments so far this summer. LOVE THEM.
Don't forget to add that dash of bronzer and mascara for a fresh casual look!
I hope you can gain some sort of inspiration from this!

Now, go and have a lovely Sunday!

Just Peachy

Helllllooo!
School is D O N E!
Which means that I can now spend more time blogging my little heart out. So excited!
I'm just going to cut right to the chase and say that this outfit is begging for summer drives and iced tea runs.
These peach colored jeans are so light and fun, and I love the chunky look of the wooden wedges!
In other news, the band Foster the People's debut album 'TORCHES' just came out Monday and it is fantastic!
It's already the soundtrack to my summer and I suggest you go get it right away!
Wow, lots of exclamation points in today's post. I guess it just shows my excitement about my new found blogging time...!

Have a happy sunshiny day!

Caps, Gowns, and...Hermès Bracelets?

This is my "If-money-weren't-an-option-what-I-would-wear-to-graduation" post.
I'm a pretty simple person when it comes to nicer events, so whatever I wear has to be comfortable, and can't involve lugging a huge purse around.
It's no surprise to me that my graduation would be any different! I love the simple look to this with an added kick in the dress pattern and the clutch color.
After tonight, I'll have much much more time to spend here on le blog and little DIY projects. I'm just SO excited!

Have a splendid afternoon!

There Has Been Rain...

I guess that I'm getting my last few wintery outfits out of my system!
I have so much to say about this outfit, the first thing being that I want to put it on RIGHT NOW!!
I tossed the idea of a hat back and forth, and came to the conclusion that this outfit needed a little somethin' somethin'.
I've seen this hat in all sorts of cute outfits and figured, why not? Surely I can't go wrong with one hat!
Anywayyyyy, I'm a l m o s t done with school (one day left!) and am getting really really excited to post recipes that I've tried in the last month, and just post more in general.

Happy blogging!
